This year witnessed a continued increase in patient interest in minimally invasive procedures, including CoolSculpting and Botox. In fact, since 2015, customer interest in non-surgical treatment options has lagged behind client interest in medical aesthetics operations.
According to the survey, the rise in popularity of cosmetic procedures reflects patients’ desire for procedures with little to no recovery time.
For a second year in a row, Botox was the cosmetic procedure that attracted the most research, with interest up 11% from the previous year. Microneedling and PRP therapy, two lesser-known procedures, experienced considerable growth of 19 and 20 percent, respectively.
Additionally, there has been a sharp increase in interest in skin-condition therapies. With an increase of 39%, Halo took second place. A fractional laser is used in this light-based procedure to treat issues like sun damage, discoloration, and enlarged pores.
With the largest interest rise in 2018 (up 42% year over year), thread lifts also fared well.
