It’s unusual to meet someone who doesn’t use at least one form of social media. Many of us are hopelessly engrossed in the world of internet sharing, where everything from status updates to photographs and movies can be instantly disseminated to a wide audience. We want our loved ones to not only know what’s going on in our lives and stay in touch with us but also to see us in a positive light.
Researchers at the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (AAFPRS) found that the popularity of photo-sharing platforms like Instagram and Facebook contributed to a 31% increase in both non-surgical and surgical cosmetic procedures. As a direct result, rhinoplasty was the most common procedure followed by Botox.
Forty million people throughout the world have gotten Botox injections, and sales increased by 25% from the year before. Botox is widely regarded as a “quick cure” for reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, as well as achieving a more young and refreshed overall appearance, in both men and women. The results of Botox are nearly instantaneous, and the fact that there is no recuperation period makes it more tempting than more invasive procedures that require more time off of work.
The use of Botox requires medical training, which is something only doctors may obtain. More and more doctors, nurses, and other medical staff have been trained to administer Botox as demand has grown.
