Duplechin? Kybella Training Will Teach You How To Melt It Away

  • by

Did you know that eighty percent of people who have double chins feel negative about themselves because of it?

About two years ago, liposuction or surgical removal of submental fat (the fatty pad behind the chin) was your only choice.

Kybella, however, introduced in 2015, changed all that.

Kybella—what is it?

The FDA has approved Kybella as the first and only cosmetic injectable to reduce the appearance of submental fullness (double chin) due to weight gain, aging, or heredity.

Kybella is a man-made analog of a naturally occurring chemical called deoxycholic acid, which is secreted by the intestines and aids in the digestion and absorption of dietary fats.

Kybella injections in the upper neck are effective because they disrupt the membranes of the fat cells that are the focus of the treatment. This stops fat storage in the cells. After these cells are destroyed, the body’s natural cleansing and repair mechanisms take over. After around four to six weeks, the fat cells in the treated area are surgically removed.

Just how long does the Kybella procedure take?

Kybella treatments only need to be administered at the clinic once, and the appointment itself takes approximately 15–20 minutes. The amount of fat and the desired profile of the client’s chin determine the necessary number of treatments. How many Kybella sessions you need is something only your cosmetic injector can tell you. For optimal outcomes, additional appointments should be spaced out to occur once every 30 days.
