Nurse Botox Licensure

  • by

If you’re a registered nurse (RN), you can get Botox certification.

Due to the increasing popularity of noninvasive cosmetic procedures over the past decade, a growing number of nurses have specialized in Botox administration.

According to the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, botulinum toxin injections increased in popularity by 4% in 2016 to become the most popular nonsurgical medical aesthetics therapy in the US.

You need to get your RN Botox certification before you can start offering your clients the benefits of this relatively risk-free aesthetic procedure.

Botox Injections Can Be Placed In Which Body Parts?

One of the first things a nurse injector learns during Botox training is where on the face Botox is safe to be injected. Botox injections are most frequently utilized in the following three facial areas:

  • Put it in that space between your brows. Botox is injected into the frown lines-causing muscles between the brows.

  • Where the eyes are located, is the forehead. When Botox is injected into the muscles of the forehead, fine lines and wrinkles disappear.

  • “Crow’s feet” Botox injections into the crow’s feet help smooth out wrinkles around the eyes and restore a more youthful appearance.

Innovative Injection Methods

In addition to our basic Botox and dermal fillers courses, we also provide Advanced Botox and Dermal Fillers training for those who have already done one of our basic courses.

Your training as a cosmetic nurse will include:

  • Injections of Botox and dermal fillers that are not approved by the Food and Drug Administration. One of the most common unapproved uses of Botox is the “Lip Pop,” a procedure that plumps up the lips.

  • Botox to create a more defined arch in the brow. An eyebrow lift can be achieved by the use of Botox injections in the brow depressors.

  • Plachysmal band Botox treatment. The platysmal bands can be loosened and made more comfortable by Botox injections.

  • Subconjunctival dermal fillers are used to achieve this. Dermal fillers are injected into the tear troughs to diminish under-eye bags and banish the dark circles that occur with age.

  • Facelifting techniques include adding filler to the cheeks. The face can be reshaped with dermal fillers to restore lost volume in the cheeks, cheekbones, and chin.

Nursing Staff Botox Training and Certification

Medical professionals, nurses, skincare experts, and medical aesthetics professionals with seven years of expertise or more teach Botox and dermal filler courses.

Each program includes both theoretical instruction (in the classroom) and practical experience (in a clinical setting). Facial anatomy, Botox injection technique, patient assessment, and pre-and post-treatment care are just some of the topics covered in a formal classroom setting.

Practical instruction is delivered in a relaxing medical spa. Participants will be divided into small groups and given the opportunity to observe detailed demonstrations of Botox injection procedures before trying their hand at a range of those methods on scheduled clients.

We can provide intensive Botox injection instruction in only one day if you’re in a hurry. This entails practical experience administering cosmetic injectables including Botox, dermal fillers, and others in a clinical setting.

We also provide more extensive training on cosmetic lasers and injectables for individuals who are looking for variation. Training and certification in not only Botox injections, but also dermal fillers, cosmetic lasers, sclerotherapy, and many more, are available.

Since Botox, other cosmetic injectables, and laser treatments are all paid for in advance, training in them presents a fantastic opportunity for doctors looking to grow their practices and improve revenue. Many registered nurses decide to attend these classes in order to supplement their income, switch careers, or both.
